Modern Family’s Zeitgeist
This show is set in present day America, in your average town with average families. What makes this extraordinary is when the family gets together and the mixtures of all of them arguing and talking. There’s extremely sensitive characters, and bold characters, that bond well together. The situations within this show is what makes it great. They’re able to tolerate all the issues like same-sex, age gaps, immigration, and blended families.
This shows how little Mitchell knows about boy things, and how he learns from his nephew, instead of learning as a child like most would.

Claire believes that she must be right about anything and everything, and it really frustrates the family because she refuses to admit it even if she’s wrong
This shows how much power Gloria has over their relationship, and how all she cares about is the money, but neither of them will leave each other regardless.

I chose this photo because it shows how feminine Mitchell was as a child, even more so than his sister. He feels he’ll be a bad father to a son because of his feminine-like characteristics.

I chose this because it shows the sterotypical “gay man shopping”, and again the bond between the father and Lily.

This shows 2 sisters on the show, one being very academic, and one being popular having a bit of an arguement.

This shows the mother who was raised in a poor community trying to right the wrong her son made when he stole a girl’s locket by simply placing it back into the locker instead of facing the authorities like they should have.

I chose this because it portrays how jokes are made about sexuality frequently on this show, but it’s innocent enough that none of the characters feelings get hurt.
